Self-Advocate Day

Friday, May 10th 

9:00-3:00PM

Friday, May 10th from 9AM-3PM, we are hosting our Self-Advocate Day for individuals aged 18 and older with Down syndrome. The day will include programs that support building educational, social, health and wellness, and independent living skills. Space is limited to 15 participants and will take place at our office.  Lunch is included. RSVP to attend at SA DAY.

Mom's Club

Join Mom's Club at Poured (1601 E. Debbie Lane, Suite 1105, Mansfield, Texas 76063) at 6:00 PM on Saturday, May 18th. DSPNT will provide appetizers and a glass of wine. Come mingle with fellow moms and enjoy a relaxing night out! RSVP at MOM'S CLUB.

SPEAK

SPEAK (Sessions Promoting Education, Advocacy, and Knowledge) is a free monthly educational program for parents, community members, educators, and professionals. A Zoom link will be sent out three days before the event. This month, Melissa Peterson will be presenting on aging adults with Down syndrome and the risk for Alzheimer’s Disease. Through this presentation, you will learn about age-related risk factors for adults with Down Syndrome including the risk for Alzheimer’s disease. This presentation will also cover information regarding what is being done in the Down Syndrome space to better understand Alzheimer’s disease and cover ways you can become involved in local research. Music Therapy

Join us for music therapy on Wednesday, June 5th from 10:30 to 11:30 AM. The class is for individuals with Down syndrome ages birth to 5 years old and will be located at our DSPNT office (1000 Bonnie Brae Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76111). Register at MUSIC.

Adult Boot Scootin' BBQ Bash

Wednesday, June 12th

5:30-8:00PM

Join us at Cooper's Old Time BBQ (301 Stockyards Blvd, Fort Worth, TX 76164) at 5:30 for a BBQ dinner, then head over to Billy Bob's at 7:00 for a line dancing class. This event is for individuals with Down syndrome aged 18 and older. The line dancing class will end at 8:00 pm. Individuals will be in charge of paying for their own dinner. Register at BBQ BASH.

Fort Worth Family Zoo Day 

Tuesday, June 18th 10:00-2:00PM

Join us as we explore the Fort Worth Zoo from 10-2. Each person over 2 is $10.00 per ticket. The individual with DS is free, just register on the separate ticket link. Registration closes on Friday, June 14th. Register at ZOO.

Kindergarten Prep Program

Saturday, June 22nd 

9:00-12:00PM

Empower your child's journey to kindergarten readiness with our specialized program designed for children with Down syndrome. Students attending must be entering kindergarten in the fall of 2024. 
The workshop will be offered in both English and Spanish. The in-person workshop will be located at Eagles View Church (5440 W Bailey Boswell Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76179). Register at KPREP.
