Drawing Together

PARENTS/CAREGIVERS

Navigating a diagnosis of Down syndrome or supporting a loved one with Down syndrome can bring many questions at every stage of life. Access to reliable information, community services, educational opportunities, healthcare resources, and support networks empowers families to make informed decisions and advocate effectively for their loved ones. Because needs evolve from infancy through adulthood, having access to current and relevant resources is essential for promoting independence, inclusion, health, and overall quality of life.

DSPNT is committed to providing the latest resources that support the individuals and families we serve. Our goal is to connect families with information, programs, service providers, and community opportunities that may be helpful throughout their journey.

The resources and information shared should not be considered an endorsement by DSPNT, but rather a way for us to inform visitors to our website. DSPNT is simply providing resources so families can make decisions based on the information provided.  PARENT RESOURCES

MEDICAL COMMUNITY

At the Down Syndrome Partnership of North Texas, we know compassionate, informed care begins with empowered providers. This page offers ready-to-use tools to support you in delivering diagnoses, connecting families to trusted resources, and promoting excellence in Down syndrome care.

Here, you'll find training videos on best practices for delivering a Down syndrome diagnosis, as well as a simple form to enroll your patients in our Parent’s First Call (PFC) Program — which ensures each new family receives a personalized welcome basket, emotional support, and ongoing connections to services across North Texas.

You can also sign up for our monthly Medical Outreach Newsletter, which features clinical updates, Down syndrome–specific CEU opportunities, and educational “fun facts” to keep you informed and connected.

Lastly, we offer in-person medical presentations for staff, residents, or students — led by DSPNT team members and a self-advocate — to strengthen knowledge, communication skills, and understanding of the lived experience.

Together, we can help families feel supported from the very first conversation and ensure continuity of care across the medical journey.  MEDICAL RESOURCES
