Advocacy Awards
DSPNT will be accepting nominations for our 3rd Annual Down Syndrome Advocacy Awards through March 1, 2021. All nominations will be considered by a panel of DSPNT employees and board members and all nominees will be notified regardless of whether they receive an award. Your nomination may remain anonymous. A portion of your nomination may be read aloud and used in press releases and other event materials at our ceremony on Sunday, March 21st. You may nominate one person for each category.
Parent/Caregiver – This individual has shown leadership as a caregiver or parent of someone with Down syndrome. This individual has gone above and beyond as an advocate for the entire Down syndrome community.
2019 Recipient: Theresa Moffitt
Volunteer – This individual has gone above and beyond giving of their time and talent to support DSPNT at either our special events, programs, or fundraisers.
2019 Recipient: NCL Keller
Educator – This educator has shown leadership in the classroom by advocating for inclusion and the educational rights of all children.
2019 Recipient: Libby Middleton, KinderFrogs
Self-Advocate – This is an individual with Down syndrome who has displayed strong characteristics of leadership, advocacy, and engagement while promoting the abilities of all people with Down syndrome.
2019 Recipient: Blake Pyron
Business - This is a business that has gone above and beyond to show support of the Ds Community.
2019 Recipient: Cheer Connection
Legacy Award – This is an individual who has dedicated their life to advocating, educating and supporting individuals with Down syndrome.
2019 Recipient: Marilyn Tolbert, KinderFrogs
