Programs

At the Down Syndrome Partnership of North Texas (DSPNT), we believe every individual with Down syndrome deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. From the moment of diagnosis through adulthood, our programs are designed to provide education, support, meaningful connections, and opportunities that foster independence and inclusion.

Parent's First Call

A new or prenatal diagnosis can bring many emotions and questions.

Through our Parent's First Call Program, trained parent volunteers provide encouragement, resources, and real-life perspectives that help families navigate the early days following a diagnosis. We also connect families to educational resources, support networks, and community programs that empower them to make informed decisions for their child and family.

If you are the parent or caregiver of a new baby with Down syndrome, please fill out this form and you will be connected with the Case Manager on our staff.

For Hospitals and Medical Staff:

If you have a parent who is expecting a baby with Down syndrome or just had a baby, you can download a New Parent Release form, send it to DSPNT and we can reach out with a trained, parent volunteer and new parent basket.  Or you can click on the "Medical Providers" button and fill the form out on-line.  Resources are available in English and Spanish. Forms may be downloaded in English & Spanish.

Early Childhood

The early years lay the foundation for lifelong success. DSPNT offers programs that encourage language development, literacy, social interaction, and developmental growth while equipping parents with valuable resources and support. Through engaging activities and partnerships with local universities and therapists, families build confidence while children learn through play.  Click the link to see upcoming programs.

School-Aged Support

As children grow, DSPNT continues to bridge educational gaps by offering workshops, educational resources, advocacy, and opportunities that help families navigate school services and prepare for future success. We also provide community education to promote acceptance and inclusion in schools and throughout North Texas.

Teens & Adults

Our adult programming focuses on developing life skills such as cooking, budgeting, communication, health and wellness, self-advocacy, job readiness, and community engagement in a supportive environment. Monthly social events, peer mentoring, wellness activities, and community outings help participants build friendships while practicing real-world skills that promote greater independence.

Parents & Caregivers

Parents and caregivers are the foundation of every individual's success, and DSPNT is committed to supporting them every step of the way. Through educational workshops, support groups, resource referrals, and opportunities to connect with other families, we provide the tools, knowledge, and encouragement caregivers need to navigate every stage of life. By empowering parents and caregivers, we help build stronger families and brighter futures for individuals with Down syndrome.
